The most common route for travellers starting in Manila is to fly into Puerto Princesa (PPS) — served by frequent daily jet flights from Manila, Cebu, and other hubs — then continue north to El Nido overland.
The Puerto Princesa–El Nido journey takes roughly five to six hours by road, with several daily bus and shared-van services running the route, as well as private transfers. It’s a longer day than flying into Lio, but flights into Puerto Princesa are far more frequent and typically much cheaper.
Note: there is no direct Puerto Princesa–El Nido flight. Itineraries sold as PPS–ENI connect back through Manila or Cebu and can take 8–14 hours, so the overland leg is almost always the better option.
Option 3: Ferry from Coron
Travelling from Coron, fast-craft ferries (such as Atienza or Montenegro Shipping Lines) reach El Nido in about 3.5 hours.
